A renowned designer of external data storages, Data Robotics, announces the future release of its new NAS for individual consumers. Codenamed Drobo 5DN, the storage is estimated for the installation of up to 5 drives of 3.5-inch standard (all employ SATA interface II or III version) and features 150x185x262 mm overall dimensions. Under the company's idea, its new creation might become a perfect choice for the creation of various RAID configurations. Besides, the implemented design, facilities and user-friendly interface are going to attract even the entry-level customers.Additionally to five 3.5-inch drives, Data Robotics stipulates the integration of one SSD of mSATA standard; its main function is to fulfill caching activity of frequently used data. The Taiwanese company TSMC confirmed its intention to start production of chips using 20 nm technological processes in 2013. However, for now the company does not plan its production on an industrial scale and will release the first chips in a limited quantities, giving them a total of 1% of production capacity. According to the head of the company, the mass production of semiconductor chips with this technology will not begin until 2014.
