Company Thecus decided to introduce a new naming scheme for its drives, so that users can easily understand its product line. New names will have all future models.



In the name with length of five to seven characters will be encoded some information about the device. The first letter indicates the type of device: N — NAS running Linux, D — DAS, W — NAS running Windows, V — NVR. SCSI (Small Computer System Interface) is one of the oldest interfaces to physically connect the peripheral devices to the computer. Unlike other connectivity standards, "skazi" (Rus. pronunciation of an acronym) is designed to combine on the same bus have different type of internal and external devices: hard drives, tape drives, printers, scanners, drives, drives, etc. To communicate with the computer they use individual drivers for SCSI adapters.
