SilverStone TS433-TB: 4-Bay NAS with Thunderbolt 2 Connectors

SilverStone has replenished its inventory with a 4-bay NAS, entitled SST-TS433-TB. The new-comer is housed in a black aluminum case with an integrated zinc handle (124x166x248 mm dimensions). The storage allows to install high-capacity 3.5-/2.5-inch drives; each bay supports hot swapping functions and features a dedicated lock with LED activity indicator.



The heart of SilverStone SST-TS433-TB is Marvell 88SE9030 controller that is responsible for JBOD and RAID 0 operational modes. In the first case the drives function independently, whereas in RAID 0 mode they operate as a unified whole, evenly distributing information across the disc space.


The connection of NAS to the PC or other computing device is realized via a pair of Thunderbolt 2 ports which are characterized by the maximal bandwidth of 20 Gb/sec. These ports are known to support Daisy Chain function. Cooling of all internal components is entrusted to a single 90-mm fan.

‘Kaspersky Lab’ company, known for the development and distribution of information security programs, has recently published a report dedicated to the spam-system activity for the past quarter of 2012. The report contains the statistical data in percentages about the spammer activity in different parts of the world. The 3% reduction of e-mail spam level is considered to be the most advantageous aspect in the report. However, the extension of the spammer activity geography is considered to be the least advantageous aspect in the whole report. Corsair Introduces Brand New LL120 RGB/LL140 RGB Framework Fans

The list of essential Corsair products is now replenished by two fans models – namely LL120 and LL140 RGB. The American company’s novelties are based on the fluid bearing and, as we see from their names, feature 120 and 140 mm impeller diameters. The RGB-LED backlighting should also be marked out.



The backlighting system includes 16 RGB LEDs, divided into two rings. The manufacturer claims, backlighting can perform the role of RGB strips, allowing adjust lighting effects more flexibly. One must note, that backlighting is regulated with the use of the Corsair Link utility via a dedicated Lighting Node Pro controller, supplied with sets of two or three fans.


Corsair LL120 and LL140 RGB fans support PWM rotary speed managing in the range of 600–1500/600–1300 rpm in respect. The lower-end model ensures the 43 CFM (73 m³/h) airflow at the 25 dBA noise level. The 140 mm sample at the same noise condition produces the 51.5 CFM (87.5 m³/h) airflow.

O controlador de disco rígido – сложнейшее dispositivo, um minicomputador com seu próprio processador, o chip de controle, memória RAM e ROM, cabo de gravação e leitura de dados, o módulo de interface e sistema de posicionamento.
