Thermaltake to Release a New Urban Chassis: Urban R31

Thermaltake Technology has just annunciated the release of yet another representative of Urban series: Urban R31. The chassis features mid-tower form-factor with 511x206x490 mm dimensions. It might boast a minimalist design concept with totally black coating, steel case, and aluminum frontal facet. The company offers the model in two framework variations: with an onboard side window and with a blind side facet. Unfortunately, there is no news so far concerning the pricing and an exact release date.



Thermaltake Urban R31 is ready to accommodate ATX or micro-ATX motherboards. Its internal layout comprises three 5.25-inch drive bays, six 3.5-inch drive bays, and one 2.5-inch drive bay. IBM, Intel, AMD, Cray, HPE and NVIDIA Have Been Awarded a Grant for Exaflop Supercomputer Development

The most effective supercomputer is launched in China today. The system, called Sunway TaihuLight, operates locally developed processors. The ultimate Sunway TaihuLight productivity is 125 petaflops. In 2020 China plans to generate the first system in the world with a capacity overcoming one exaflops. At present the USA stays behind, however American supercomputers’ energy performance is significantly higher.



The US Department of Energy has established a $258 million grant for cost effective exaflop supermachines construction. Six American companies (IBM, Intel, AMD, Cray, HPE and NVIDIA) won it. Now they are to create an architecture, able to consume 25–30 MW at one exaflop productiveness. Such a system’s deployment is to take place in 2021. Apart from funds committed, each member company of the Exascale Computing Project program will put up its own means, constituting around 40% of DOE’s funds. Akasa Vegas R7 Is a Quiet Chassis Fan Supplied with the Multicolour RGB Illumination

The Akasa vendor presented the Vegas R7 chassis fan, constructed primarily for gaming desktop computers.



This 120 mm cooling device is able to produce an air flow of 1 m3 per minute at the rotary velocity of 1,500 rpm. The noise factor specified doesn’t overcome 23.8 dBA. The fan is built on the FDB bearing and has special rubber damping pads, diminishing vibration. The lifespan reported equals 40,000 hours.


Vegas R7 is supplied with transparent blades and multicoloured LED RGB-backlighting. Being compatible with the ASUS Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Light Sync and Gigabyte RGB Fusion control technologies, it can be easily integrated into eye-catching desktop systems featuring the consistent operation scheme of components backlighting.


This 120 × 120 × 25 mm fan is linked via the 3-pin (power) and 4-pin (illumination) connectors.
