EB490QKbmiiipx – the Latest 48.5” Monitor from Acer – Will Go for About 730 USD

Acer astonishes its fans time after time and launches retailing of its large-size 48.5-inch EB490QKbmiiipx monitor with the IPS panel. This big model is intended for gamers and movies enthusiasts, however, it can also find professional application.



The novelty is an Ultra HD 4К-display, featuring the 3840 × 2160 pixels resolution, the 4 ms (in the GtG mode) response time, the 300 cd/m2 brightness and up to 178 degrees (horizontally and vertically) viewing angles. The basic and dynamic contrast ratios are 1200:1 and 100 000 000:1 respectively. Picture-By-Picture (PBP) and Picture-In-Picture (PIP) functions are supported.


Due to special flicker-free technologies EB490QKbmiiipx reduces eyes tiredness during long-lasting operating or gaming.


Connectivity options are performed via HDMI 2.0 and HDMI 1.4 (×2) ports, DisplayPort 1.2 and D-Sub connectors, and a standard 3.5 mm audio jack. The specialty offers perfect sounding, ensured by two effective 10 W speakers.

Kingston and Adata Come up with M.2 SSDs

Within the framework of Computex 2014 both Kingston and Adata are going to introduce their fresh SSD series of M.2 form-factor. In keeping with the manufacturers’ words, the products – SM2280S2 and SR1020NP — are differentiated by some spectacular performance. At present the companies provide only basic info about the drives, leaving their fans in suspense.



Kingston SM2280S3 is based on Phison PS3108 that supports SATA 6 Gb/sec interface only. It ensures 540 MB/sec and 514 MB/sec speed on sequential Read/Write operations. For sure, it’s not the performance innovative M.2 drives should demonstrate (about 10 Gb/sec), although the model considerably surpasses traditional HDDs in this respect.


This SSD series is represented by three models of 120 GB, 240 GB and 480 GB capacity. All of them employ DDR3 cache-memory with the minimal 256 MB capacity. Besides, the difference in efficiency between other M.2 offers Kingston promises to compensate by a more affordable price.
