Two New SSD Series for Corporate Clients from Samsung

Samsung has recently announced the release of two new SSD series, intended basically for the employment in corporate segment (for servers and large data storages). The first series, codenamed SM843, will be represented by models of 120GB, 240GB and 480GB capacity; the second series, codenamed SM1625, will contain models of 100GB, 200GB, 400GB, and 800GB capacity.



All the models within the series are based on MLC NAND flash-memory, developed under 20 nm technological process. This allowed the company to increase the writing speed index and SSDs durability three times as much, if compared with rival drives and items of the previous generation.


SM843 solid-state drives are designed in 2.5-inch form-factor. They are notable by 28% lower power consumption in active mode and 80% lower retention time. LG Introduces a New Series of PC Monoblock Units

LG Electronics established the reputation as the global manufacturer of consumer electronics long time ago, but it still amazes the community with ever newer products and approaches. Thus, lately the company has 'shared' the news about the forthcoming delivery of its monoblock units which belong to V720 series. The first two models to appear in the open sale will be V720-D.AE50K and V720-U.AE30K. The basic distinction of both units will be their ultra-thin casings and the integration of all chief system elements at the stand base.



The two models are promised to have as similar specifications, so different features to comply with various needs. Both are furnished with Bluetooth 4.0 modules, TV-tuner, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/b, card reader. There are USB 3.0 sockets, HDMI socket, and loudspeakers of 7W efficiency. Some other major specifications are listed below.


V720-D.AE50K model:

— equipped with two-core Intel Core i5-3210M processor that works at 2.5-3.1 GHz frequency;

ASRock Z77 Extreme6/TB4 will get four ports Thunderbolt

The company ASRock, as well as Gigabyte, appreciates the prospects of cutting-edge interface Thunderbolt, so much that it has supplied motherboard Z77 Extreme6/TB4 with four corresponding slots. The novelty is based on existing models with the prefix Extreme6, but its layout is slightly different from the original. In particular, the place of mini-PCIe slots and a pair of PCI slots are occupied with PCI-E x1, and PCI-E x4.



For those who don’t remember all specification, there is a reminder: ASRock Z77 Extreme6 uses a bunch of processor socket LGA1155 for two-and quad-core CPU Ivy Bridge (22 nm) and Sandy Bridge (32nm) chipset and overclocking Intel Z77 Express. The exact specifications of the new model are not listed. Its predecessor could work with three video adapters Radeon in 3-Way CrossFire (x8 + x4 + x4) or two GeForce in SLI (x8 + x8), DDR3 memory with a frequency of 2800 MHz and above, had a four-channel SATA 6 Gb / s and the same number of SATA 3 Gb / s and USB 3.0.
