In nearly two years after the announcement of the hull Define R3, Fractal Design Company announced the release of its ideological successor. New, executed in the same minimalist style, has received the designation Define R4.



The hull is designed to install motherboard sizes ATX, Micro ATX and Mini ATX, and eight expansion cards. Define R4 design provides for two external 5.25-inch bay size, as well as ten internal, eight — to set the size 3.5-inch HDD, two — for the installation of SSD size 2.5 inches.


As the creators say, inside Define R4 can be used CPU coolers up to 170 cm, power supplies up to 270 cm, and graphics up to 295 or 430 mm (respectively, with basket for the HDD, and without it). GeIL, which is known for its high-end memory modules, drives, and other PC components, is going to release a new SSD series, codenamed Zenith S3. The series will embrace three models of 60GB, 120GB and 240GB capacity. All of them will be developed in 2.5-inch form-factor and will employ SATA III 6Gb/sec interface. The differentiation between the models is seen not only in their capacities but also in their speed performance, the index of which will be uncovered below.



Zenith S3 line is based on MLC NAND flash-chips designed under 25 nm technological process. As for the speed characteristics, all models in the series prove to demonstrate the maximal performance on random Write operations (4KB) – up to 70000 IOPS. Within the bounds of AMD Fusion Developer Summit, Advanced Micro Devices has presented its new graphics card AMD FirePro W9000. The new graphic solution is based on a couple of 28-nm Tahiti chips and is actually a prototype of Radeon HD 7900 adapter. FirePro W9000 is chiefly targeted at professionals used to work with 3D technologies and video editing applications.



AMD FirePro W9000 is based on a red circuit board developed to work with PCI Express 3.0x16 bus. The cooling system is represented by a solid cooler of active type, a high-end radiator, three 90 mm. noiseless fans and copper heat tubes. The organization of additional power presupposes the availability of two dedicated eight-contact slots.
