Meet Three New Motherboards for Workstations and Servers from Gigabyte

Gigabyte, a global manufacturer of versatile PC hardware components, regularly updates its desktop motherboards product line, providing its customers with the most advanced facilities and performance. Still, the company is actively developing also a series of motherboards intended for the implementation into workstations and server systems.

Hence, Gigabyte has recently introduced three new models to replenish this series: GA-6PXSV4, GA-7PESH3, and GA-7PESH4. The users are able to create a really efficient system with the help of those boards in order to realize different computing activities due to GPU, CAD/CAE visualization or physical processors simulation.

All three motherboards are compatible with Intel Xeon E5-1600/2600 CPUs for Socket LGA2011 and take Intel C602 chipset as the basis. The first model from Gigabyte, GA-6PXSV4, features five expansion slots, including two PCIe 3.0 x16, one PCIe 3.0 x8, one PCIe 2.0 x1, and one more PCI. It supports up to 256GB of …

Intel Broadwell CPUs will Get BGA Casing

The Internet community is energetically discussing unofficial info concerning the future Intel's Broadwell processors. According to the yet unacknowledged data, Intel will branch off from currently traditional LGA casings in favor to a more advanced BGA solution. At present all CPUs designed by Intel specifically for desktop platforms feature LGA (Land Grid Array) casings which allow the users to upgrade their systems without any hassle. On LGA implementation, the chip is housed within a socket and contacts with the motherboard. As a result, the user might change one chip to the other only with similar set of contacts.

The launch of Intel Broadwell processors, which is planned for 2014, might dramatically change the situation for customers. Most probably Intel will refuse from LGA casings and accommodate all new CPUs in BGA ones, marking the change of Haswell generation to the future Broadwell generation developed under 14 nm technological process. BGA (Ball Grid Array) …

Three-Dimensional Monitor HP 2311 GT Review

Three-dimensional technology applied in PC monitors enjoys popularity primarily with more well-to-do people rather than general public. This can be simply explained by the price aspect attached to the issue: 3D monitors with all accompanying equipment are a costly acquirement, and not every customer is ready or can afford buying them for home use. Hewlett-Packard company always tries to comply with the demands and possibilities of their consumers; however, the company does not forget about the development and innovations. Thus, HP delivered three-dimensional monitor with passive polarized 3D technology, codenamed HP 2311 GT.

Design and Specifications

First of all, it should be mentioned that HP 2311 GT is basically oriented on the entry level customers, and this is vindicated by the moderate price policy ascribed to the series. The casing is made of plastic with mould base; this base does not allow any alterations in monitor's height or rotation. The tilt can be adjusted …
