Last November Nvidia 'shattered' the IT market with its Maximus platform. Currently, the company is officially presenting the second generation of the platform – Maximus 2. The new platform is based on the advanced GPUs which employ Kepler architecture. The major task assigned to the Maximus 2 is to provide an unmatched performance and efficiency in quite different spheres of enterprise, starting from computer graphics and finishing with oil industry. Besides, it has got improved facilities of virtualization and analyzing activities.



According to the data claimed by the manufacturer, workstations developed on Maximus 2 platform will be put into sale already this December. It is already known that there are a number of companies that will employ Nvidia Maximus 2 in their product lines. Gigabyte, a globally-celebrated PC hardware manufacturer, is going to launch two new PC chassis, embraced in Luxo series. The novels, designed in mid-tower form-factor, have been entitled as Luxo M20 and Luxo M30. Both models are housed in reliable steel cases (SECC) but have got some plastic insertions. Their dimensions are outlined as 440x192x430 mm. No information about the pricing or exact release date has been promulgated so far.

Codenamed P420m, the new-comers are the true followers of P320h drives, but they are ready to offer more than their predecessors. According to Micron, its new entries feature voluminous capacities and ensure high reliability; however, their price range is far more reasonable than other corporate-class products.



SSDs P420m come in two variations: as standard 2.5-inch drives with PCI Express x4 interface or as HHHL (half-height half-length) expansion cards with PCI Express x8 interface. Both species are based on MLC NAND flash-memory, developed under 25 nm technological process.
