Last November Nvidia 'shattered' the IT market with its Maximus platform. Currently, the company is officially presenting the second generation of the platform – Maximus 2. The new platform is based on the advanced GPUs which employ Kepler architecture. The major task assigned to the Maximus 2 is to provide an unmatched performance and efficiency in quite different spheres of enterprise, starting from computer graphics and finishing with oil industry. According to the data claimed by the manufacturer, workstations developed on Maximus 2 platform will be put into sale already this December. Gigabyte GR-EZI04H: NAS for Home-Based Platforms

Gigabyte is going to release a new data storage intended specifically for home use. Codenamed GR-EZI04H, this NAS is housed in a black casing and features 220x183x146 mm dimensions. The storage is based on the combination of two-core Intel Atom D2500 processor (clock frequency 1.8 GHz) and Intel ICH10R south bridge. It is estimated for four 3.5-inch drives of up to 3TB in capacity each. Each of the drives should employ SATA II interface.



The overall volume of DDR3 RAM (1066 MHz) can achieve 4GB. This data storage is controlled by Windows Home Server 2011 or Embedded Linux OS platforms. All interface in/outputs are located on the rear panel. Here one can find a couple of USB 2.0 and the same number of USB 3.0 ports, a single D-Sub port, one DC input, and two more RJ-45 sockets.
