Intel Broadwell CPUs will Get BGA Casing

The Internet community is energetically discussing unofficial info concerning the future Intel's Broadwell processors. According to the yet unacknowledged data, Intel will branch off from currently traditional LGA casings in favor to a more advanced BGA solution. At present all CPUs designed by Intel specifically for desktop platforms feature LGA (Land Grid Array) casings which allow the users to upgrade their systems without any hassle. On LGA implementation, the chip is housed within a socket and contacts with the motherboard. As a result, the user might change one chip to the other only with similar set of contacts.

The launch of Intel Broadwell processors, which is planned for 2014, might dramatically change the situation for customers. Most probably Intel will refuse from LGA casings and accommodate all new CPUs in BGA ones, marking the change of Haswell generation to the future Broadwell generation developed under 14 nm technological process. BGA (Ball Grid Array) …

Asetek to Finalize the Development of the 4Gen LCS

Asetek, a well-known manufacturer and supplier of water/liquid cooling solutions, announces the final stage in the development of the 4th generation of its patented liquid-cooling system. Currently, the products developed by Asetek are widely used by OEM-companies in their own systems. However, in accordance with the voiced information, the LCS of the fourth generation will be delivered as OEM-product line, so as a brand Asetek product. The prospective release date is scheduled for the end of 2012.

The 4th generation of patented liquid cooling systems features an elaborated waterblock base and totally refined pump. Such improvement might provide for a dramatic increase in performance. The implemented pump creates a higher pressure and more efficiently distributes the liquid current at the entrance to the micro-channel base structure.

At the same time, thermal resistance has been reduced at 20% which resulted in 1.2 times better waterblock heat irradiation properties. …

They are intended to offer sufficient storage capacity and an unmatched performance during operation. LinkStation Mini disk server from Buffalo manufacturers is a compact solution for all home-based data storage needs. Currently, the series is represented by four models: in black and white colors and with drives of 500 GB and 1 TB capacity. One should not confuse these models with those released by this manufacturer several years ago, as today's devices have got a completely new hardware platform.

Design

LinkStation Mini is notable for exceptionally compact dimensions (if considering rival disk stations) which equal to 40x135x82 mm. The casing is made of black glossy plastic and can be adjusted in two positions (vertical and horizontal) due to the availability of rubber feet on the two sides of the device.
