Meet New High-Speed External Hard Drive Buffalo HD-GDU3

Buffalo Technology, a Japanese manufacturer of all innovatory storage devices and network solutions, showcases a new external hard drive, codenamed HD-GDU3, within the boundaries of DriveStation series. The new drive is housed in a black casing, featuring 45x126x202 mm dimensions. The model is known to have three capacity variations and, correspondingly, three different models: HD-GD1.0U3 (1TB), HD-GD2.0U3 (2TB) and HD-GD3.0U3 (3TB).

These external drives employ 3.5-inch hard drives as the basis and support an advanced high-speed USB 3.0 interface. Their layout involves 1GB of DRAM cache-memory which utilizes a dedicated caching software applet Turbo PC EX2, delivered along with the drives. This applet is called to immensely accelerate the data transfer process. The nominal delivery kit also includes a large software package with encoding and backup programs.

According to Buffalo developers, their HD-GDU3 is the fastest external hard drive ever seen. Thus, the maximal …

MSI is preparing new model - Radeon HD 7970 with a water-block

The well-known in IT-maker Company MSI announced about appearance of new videoadapter based on GPU Tahiti XT chipset. Its diversity from the other Radeon HD 7970 can be seen with the naked eye, instead of an air cooler practically the entire surface of the PCB is covered with waterblock brand EK. It differs markedly from the original version, since it is designed specifically for the MSI R7970 Lightning model. Relation of adapter to the Lightning series is easily determined by the inscription at the interface connector PCI-E 3.0 x16, as well as non-standard set of video outputs (2x DVI, 4x Mini DisplayPort) and configuration of additional power connectors (2x PCI-E Power 8-pin).

Obviously, the accelerator is positioned as the Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition and has a nominal frequency of at least 1050 MHz. Will MSI risk, like Sapphire did, and provide the card with 6 GB of memory? Probably not. The «advanced» composition of the printed circuit board and water block of full coverage …

HIS Showcases New Graphics Card with Improved UVD GPU

The line of graphics cards manufactured by HIS has been recently replenished by an alternative Radeon HD 7950 IceQ Boost Clock model. The card takes a modified graphics adapter from AMD and is based on Tahiti PRO chip, developed according to 28 nm technological process. This chip houses 1792 current processors which are designed under an advanced Graphics Core Next architecture.

One of the major technological peculiarities pertained to a new model is the implementation of a unique two-slot IceQ cooler that involves an aluminum heatsink, four copper heat pipes and low-noise powerful fan. As claimed by the manufacturer, the integrated cooling system exceeds the cooler applied in the reference model in terms of heat dissipation power and noise. Hence, noise level produced by IceQ does not exceed the boundary of 28 dB; at the same time, it reduces the GPU temperature at 12 degrees as compared with the reference model.

To continue, Radeon HD 7950 IceQ Boost Clock is based on a …
