Intel Claims Its Clover Trail More Efficient than Tegra 3

The stonewall in the tablet and mobile CPU segment is gradually mounting, with Intel and Nvidia increasing their influence and rivalry. Hence, Intel's developers claim that its latest tablet processor, two-core Atom Clover Trail, surpasses Nvidia's Tegra 3 in both performance and power consumption. To be precise, Clover Trail proves to be more efficient in a range of applications, but at the same time, it consumes power twice less than its counterpart. To exemplify such claims, Intel takes Imagination Technologies graphics that consumes less power than Tegra 3.



Numerous testing results conducted by Intel and some leading IT analysts demonstrate that Tegra 3 with four main cores and one additional core is slower that Clover Trail. Testing of performance and power consumption has been held on Microsoft Surface RT with Tegra 3 chip and Windows 8 tablet with Clover Trail chip. Nevertheless, Intel hasn't conducted any comparison in mobile OS from Google.
